I have been able to completely lose myself in music as long as I can remember. Like most people I am able to relive many of life\u2019s moments through specific tunes that seem to transport me to different times and places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Music has been a lifeline through some of my worst moments and the soundtrack for my best. A melody that brings to mind a face or an unconscious grin as you recall an event, a taste or intoxicating perfume you had long forgotten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Music has even been able to cut through the fog of dementia and transport seemingly lost souls to happier places that all of the science and physicians can not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I know that they say laughter is the best medicine but I may suggest that if added with equal parts of kindness and music, there could be no stronger remedy for all that ails the soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perhaps I am just getting soft and gooey in my advanced age but last night I found myself with a tear running down my face as I watched the U2 Live in Paris concert. It was as a packed stadium of complete strangers locked arms and swayed together while they sang the lyrics of their anthem \u201cOne Love\u201d back to the band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The emotions that welled up inside of me were asking the question, why can it not just be that easy in a world on fire, to simply embrace one and other and sway to the music. We all can hear it. Let\u2019s try to feel it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
